About The Idea Girl

I’m a results-oriented, creative spirit who enjoys watching a plan come together and helping a team succeed.

My formal training comes from Friends University (Business Administration) and Wichita State University (Human Factors Psychology – UI/UX).  I also have many hours towards a Master of Science in Management with a minor in Marketing.

In 1999 I was fortunate to meet someone who became an investor in what would become a full-service digital marketing agency (Beyond Web Design / Advanced Web Strategies).  I started out small and grew the business to a staff of 15 programmers and artists.  We worked together introducing businesses to the internet and helping them grow into the digital age. By 2007, when the business was sold, we had made over $1 million in annual sales.

I’ve written articles published in local print, online and national trade magazines.  I’ve been quoted as an expert source in blogs across the web.

I’ve spoken in front of groups including business associations and nonprofit organizations on various digital marketing topics.  I’ve taught as adjunct staff at Wichita State University (HTML) and Cowley County Community College (Microsoft Office).

I’ve been active in the community including serving as an Ambassador at the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce (2005), serving on the Workforce Alliance Youth Council of South Central Kansas (2004-2006), as an advisory member of at WATC and Butler County Community College.

My activities and endeavors have been recognized within the community and I’ve been nominated for area awards including “40 Under 40.”

I’m just someone who happened to fall in love with the internet and all it’s marketing capabilities.
I am currently employed at a nonprofit with 16 locations. I developed and manage 2 websites and 8 social media accounts for this endeavor.  In addition, I handle the fundraising and event promotions including email marketing. You can view my resume (excluding my current position) here.
